Bill Hendrix CHICKAMAUGA Billy "Bill" Milan Hendrix Sr., 81, passed away Thursday, June 19, 2014. Bill was a resident of Chickamauga for 66 years and a member of the Chickamauga First Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Gordon Lee High School and Furman University. Bill was The Voice of the Trojans for 47 years. Mr. Hendrix had been a member of the Lions Club and a volunteer fireman for the Chickamauga Fire Department. He was preceded in death by his parents, Claud and Willie Hendrix; and wife of 34 years, Joan Hendrix. Survivors include his son, Chip Hendrix, Chickamauga; daughter, Leigh Ann (Wayne Jr.) Pettigrew, LaFayette; sisters, Betty (Roy) Wright, Chickamauga, Linda Love, Chickamauga, and Donna (Charles) Young, Rock Spring; grandchildren, Anna Pettigrew and Apryl Poole, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Ken McCoy officiating. Interment will be in Chickamauga City Cemetery.
