Cleotis Brown

Cleotis "Cle" Brown, 67, passed away on Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at Hospice Care Center of Chattanooga. He was preceded in death by his father, Charlie Brown Sr.; mother, Nellie Brown; brothers, Eugene Brown and Charlie Brown Jr. He graduated from Sumter County Training School in 1964. He was a member of St. Philip Lutheran Church where he served faithfully. He was a retired journeyman from Alstom Power, formerly Combustions Engineering, where he worked for 40 plus years. Cleotis is survived by his wife of 30 years, Alice Brown; daughters, Cleasha (Jerrell) Jenkins, Charlotte, N.C. Erica Davis, Chattanooga; sons, Keith Morris, Atlanta, Keldon Brown, Chattanooga, Rodney Brown, Chattanooga; stepson, Anthony "Tony" Weaver, Atlanta; sister, Geneva Smith, Chattanooga; brothers, Johnny Brown, Chattanooga, Harry Truman (Betty) Brown, Chatsworth, Ga.; host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2014, in the chapel with Rev. Meredith Jackson officiating. Intermentin Lakewood Memory Gardens, East. The body will lie in state after noon today and the family will receive friends from 78 p.m. at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
