Johnny Whiteside

Johnny Ezell Whiteside, 68, departed this life on Tuesday, June 10, 2014. He was a faithful member of New Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by parents, Ollie and Julia Ann Whiteside; son, Kenneth Whiteside; brother, Vasco Whiteside and O. D. Whiteside. Survivors include his wife, Sherry Montgomery Whiteside; sons, Sherman and Andre Whiteside, Johnny Whiteside Jr., Kenneth Baldwin and Mark Jones; daughters, Elsie A. Green, Lisa Whiteside and Nikisha Leemore Whiteside; 21 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at noon on Monday, June 23, 2014 , at New Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, located at 1616 Washington St. with Rev. Cook and Rev. Whiteside officiating. Interment in Highland Memorial Gardens. The body will lie in state after noon today at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
