Jimmy Holcomb

Jimmy Lawrence Holcomb, 71, passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2014. He was a lifelong resident of Chickamauga and a member of Revival Baptist Church. Jimmy retired from Shaw Industries in 2011 after 40 years and was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, who will be greatly missed. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, William L. and Montalee Holcomb; grandson, Michael Henry; three sisters and two brothers. He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Carol Holcomb; daughters, Tasha (Todd) Smith of Flintstone, Tina (Chad) Simons of Ringgold and Karen (Mike) Davenport of Tunnel Hill; sons, Larry (Jennifer) Holcomb of Ohio, Andrew Holcomb of Summerville, and Nathan Holcomb of Chickamauga; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside service will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 29, 2014, in Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park, with Rev. James Turnipseed officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30-4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Arrangements by W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home, Ft. Oglethorpe.
