Ruth Greene

Ruth Greene, 85, a native of Holcomb, Miss., passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2014. She had lived in Chattanooga since 1964. She was a long time member of Silverdale Baptist Church where she was active in the nursery. She was currently attending East Chattanooga Church of God. She was preceded in death by her parents, William T and Bessie Hill; husbands, Wayne G. Organ, Tom Greene and Eldon Petty; son, Ricky Organ; brothers, Lloyd, W.T. and Frank Hill; sister, Lucille Woodruff. Survivors include her sons, Michael W. (Judy) Organ and Hilmon H. (Sheila) Organ; sisters, Mattie McGlone and Ethel Bowen; grandchildren, Adam Organ, David (Candice) Organ and Emily (Dale) Gordon; great-grandchildren, Cara and Eli Gordon; niece, June (Bobby) Overstreet; lifelong sweetheart, Cheyne Holcomb; longtime employers, Barbara Steele and Pauline Stopel, and her beloved pet Katie. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 1 in the Highway 58 chapel of Turner Funeral Home with Pastor Fred Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
