Larry Queen

LaFAYETTE Larry Douglas Queen, 67, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014. Douglas was a longtime member of Peavine Baptist Church. An Air Force Veteran, he served for four years, including a tour of duty in Thailand during the Vietnam War. Douglas was an avid NASCAR/Chevrolet fan. For over 30 years, he was the owner of Larry D. Queen Construction building homes and doing excavation work alongside son Gerald. Mr. Queen was preceded in death by his grandson, Jordan Douglas Queen; his parents, Johnnie G. and Flora Sloan Queen Sr.; his brother, Johnnie G. Queen Jr.; his sisters, Doris Davis and Elizabeth Cantrell. Survivors are his loving wife of 47 years, Martha Mosteller Queen; sons, Gerald (Suzanne) Queen, and Travis (Shelly) Queen; grandchildren, Clayton Queen, Kailee Queen, and Braden Queen; brothers Robert Queen Sr., and Lessley Queen; sisters, Betty Westbrook, Marie Cornelison, and Ann Stockburger. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 2, 2014, in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway. Burial will be at Crestlawn Memorial Park.
