Ella V. Boss, 81, passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2014, at her residence. She was a native of Fyffe, Ala., but had lived the greater part of her life in the north Georgia area. Mrs. Boss was a member of Pilgrim Way Baptist Church and retired from Yates Bleachery following 25 years of service. In addition to sewing and quilting, Mrs. Boss loved to work in her garden, feed all types of birds, and fishing. She was preceded in death by her sons, Larry and Horace Douglas Johnson; granddaughters, Robin Starr Ibach and Valerie Ann Phillips; grandson, Barry Dale Sanders and brothers, Willie and Clayton Davis. Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Joseph "J.B." Boss; children, Donnie Ruth Mathis, Rising Fawn, Ga., Eleanor Louise Sanders, Trenton, Ga., Agnes Beatrice Davis, Ooltewah, Hugh Wyatt Johnson, California, Terry Leon Johnson, Sherry Lena Samples, both of Rossville and David Lee Johnson, Chickamauga, Ga.; brother, B.M. Davis, Chattanooga; 15 grandchildren, many great and great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 10, in the South Crest Chapel with the Rev. David Brown and the Rev. Bill O'Neal officiating. Burial will follow in Chickamauga City Cemetery.
