Bobby Drinnon

Bobby Drinnon, renowned intuitive, passed away on Monday March 3, 2014, in the company of his family, at his home in Talbott, at the conclusion of a two-year battle with cancer. He was 61 years old. Recognized for his ability to counsel others on the particulars of their lives, without any previous knowledge about them, Drinnonwas often called a psychic, though he referred to himself simply as "a sensitive". He resisted the attempts of others to identify him with the New Age movement, referencing his Christianfaith and the personal commitment he made to Jesus, as a child in Buffalo Trail Baptist Church in Morristown. Drinnon left his job as a Morristown factory worker to begin a professional counseling practice, in 1977. Though he hadonly a high school education, he quickly developed a reputation for problem solving among a wide-ranging clientele seeking help with issues related to business, health, relationships, emotional distress, missing persons, and unsolved crimes. In 1988, Drinnon published his book, "Petitioning Reality with Faith", now in its third printing. In it, she shared his positive plan for living, related six visions of coming world events and described his theory of inherited human remembrance, or epigeneticmemory. A second book will be published, posthumously. Drinnon was known not only for his prodigious giftsof empathy, but also for an original sense of humour and generosity to others. He is remembered for his compassion toward disadvantaged, marginalized, and misunderstood persons, in general. Drinnon is survived by daughter, Sarah Ann Drinnon and her mother, Juanita Trent, both of Talbott; son, Justin Drinnon and wife, Kasey Drinnon; and granddaughter, Zada Grace Drinnon, of Morristown; brother, Roger Drinnon, of Lenoir City; parents, Johnnie and Oma Drinnon, of Morristown; as well as several nieces and nephews and their families all in East Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his two sisters, Shiela McNabb, of Greeneville and Susan Masoner, of Morristown, both of whom also battled cancer bravely. A memorial celebration of Bobby Drinnons life will be held Sunday, March 23, at 3 p.m. at Angelos at the Point Restaurant on Douglas Lake in Dandridge No alcohol will be served at the restaurant during the service. As the event will be held outdoors, the date is subject to change, should inclement weather be forecast. Gifts to the Bobby Drinnon Scholarship Fund, at All Saints Episcopal School, in Morristown, are requested in lieu of flowers. The fund will be used to provide scholarship aid to middle school students from families that might not otherwise be able to afford a private Christian education.
