Mary Ruth Sholtz Fann, 89, passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2014. She was born on Feb. 21, 1925, to the late William Sam and Lena Dugan Sholtz. Ruth was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga and Harrison communities, and she was a member of Bartlebaugh Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Robert Warren Fann; brother, William Sholtz Jr.; sister, Jean Melton. She is survived by her son, Jacky (Angie) Fann; daughter, Glenda (Sam) Roy; sisters, Jo (Corky) Hindman and Katherine Moyers; granddaughters, Karen Bellamy, Donna (Craig) Pica, Melody (Jay) Messer and Natalie Roy; 5 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; dear friend Al McConnell; several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 15, in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in the Old McDonald Cemetery.
