Roy Gearrin

Roy Lee Gearrin, of New England, Ga., passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at the age of 94. He was a decorated World War II veteran of the United States Air Force and retired from the Crane Company and Rockwell International. He enjoyed gardening, bluegrass music, and was an avid Braves fan. He was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Cloia Mae Gearrin; parents, James Lee and Ada Gearrin, of Rising Fawn; brother, Fred L. Gearrin Sr., of Spring City, Tenn. Survivors include his children, Cindy (Paul) Arnold, Trenton, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Gearrin, Trion, Ga.; grandchildren, Miranda (Ricky) Masters, Shaena Arnold, Michael Lee Gearrin Jr., Julie Witt, Robert Stephen Gearrin, Benjamin Boulware, Angela Robinson; brother, Charles Ralph "Sonny" Gearrin, Rossville; nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. today in the Trenton Chapel of Moore Funeral Home. Graveside services with full military honors will be held 11 a.m. EDT Thursday, March 20,2014, at Sarahs Chapel Cemetery, Wildwood, Ga.
