Karen Rowland

Karen Rene' Rowland born December 16, 1959, in Chattanooga. Her "dash" ended January 24, 2014 at the AV Hospital in Lancaster, Calif. She was predeceased by her father, Airman First Class, Bobbie L. Rowland, whose name in 1962 was inscribed on the memorial stained glass windows at Chapel 1, Edwards AFB. She was the cherished daughter of Barbara Wilson Rowland and was also survived by her beloved sister, Mayri Lynn Rowland Hebert, Bartlesville, Okla.; nephew, William L. Hebert (Christina); and children Ciara, Cayley, Camden and Caitlin, Huntington Beach, Calif.; nephew, Daniel A. Hebert (Cortney) and children Chase and Peyton Grace, Farmington, Conn.; uncles, James R. Wilson, Lake Placid, Fla.; Robert F. Wilson (Gayle), East Ridge; Michael E. Wilson (Barbara), Fort Oglethorpe, Ga.; aunt, Jennifer L. Jones-Sottile, Satellite Beach, Fla.; and rescued mutt Lucky Lucy. She is also remembered and loved by countless friends, who she cared for deeply, and numerous other extended family and friends. A resident of Lancaster for more than 50 years, she graduated from AV High School, class of '78, lettering in Varsity Softball. She attended AV College for one semester and apprenticed to the Executive Chef at the former Antelope Valley Inn. She was a caregiver for more than 30 years. She treasured her BINGO buddies and her "old folks". Her wish was for cremation and an urn to be placed with her Grandmother Hazel Wilson at the Lancaster Cemetery and another with her father at Lakewood Memorial Gardens Rossville, Ga. Karen Rene' was in love with life and all of God's creatures. She devoted her life to comforting those hurting and to easing their pain. Remember her by "doing a Karen Rene' today" and help someone who needs a friend; hug the lonely; encourage someone who is flagging to uplift their spirit; love your family unconditionally and let them know how much they mean to you. She was without malice. Try it for just one day and you'll spread the joy of Karen Rene'. Please come celebrate her life on March 29 at 12 p.m. at Grace Chapel . 44648 15th Street West in Lancaster.
