James Fitzsimmons Jr., 64, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2014, surrounded by his loving family and friends. Survived by his mother, Florence; five brothers; and two sisters; his wife, Evelyn; two sons and their wives, Aaron and Lisa, and Andy and Ann-Marie. He cherished his six grandchildren, Sarah, Jack, Finn, Rowan, Bec and Maeve. He was preceded in death by his father, James Fitzsimmons Sr. James coached his sons baseball teams and never said no when they asked him to pass ball. "Da" was in attendance at each grandchild's sports event, concert, play and Grandparents day. Falling close behind his love for his family was his passion for the Tennessee Vols, the Atlanta Braves, and Friday nights at Nightfall. James was a veteran of the Army National Guard of Tennessee and worked in the trucking industry for over 40 years. He was terminal manager at Bennett Motor Express in Chattanooga for the past eight years. In honor of James love of nature we ask you to hike a trail in your favorite state park and make a donation in his memory. His family and friends will celebrate his life Sunday, March 30, 2014, at Miller Plaza.
