Phyllis Franklin

Phyllis "Dear" Franklin, 70, passed Saturday, March 22, 2014, at a local nursing home. She was a 1961 graduate of Howard High School. She was a licensed nail technician and owner of Little Angels Daycare. She was a member of Love Fellowship Outreach Ministries. Survivors include her husband of 53 years, William Franklin; devoted daughters, Yolanda (Calvin) Moore Sr. and Tawana Franklin (also her caregiver); grandsons, Calvin (Talina) Moore Jr., Chattanooga, Tevin and Cevin Moore, Knoxville; great-grandchildren, Kalvontay Moore, Iakia and Relaya Holiday; sisters, Betty Gordon, Barbara Finley, Charise Sexton, Linda Williams, Blinda Frazier and Jerrilyn (Ransom) Evans; brothers, Ronald (Rubie) Simmons; Calvin Simmons; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Service will be held at noon Friday, March 28, 2014, in the Chapel with Rev. Robert Chaney officiating. Interment: Highland Cemetery. The body will lie in state after noon today at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Avenue, 622-9995.
