ner TRENTON Rev. Dr. Billy Clifford Shoffner, 88,went to be with his Lord Thursday morning, March 27, 2014. The Rev. Dr. Shoffner was an ordained Baptist minister for over 60 years. During his time as a minister he pastored a number of churches including Calvary Baptist in Trenton, Ga., before moving to Hickory, N.C., to establish and pastor churches. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vera Mae Jackson Shoffner. Surviving include daughter, Annita Shoffner Dugan, of Trenton; two sons, Roger Shoffner, of Lancaster, S.C. and Kendall Shoffner, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; two sisters, Donnie Johnson, of Burlington, N.C., and Ruby Longcrier, of Greensboro, N.C.; one brother, Dover Shoffner, of Burlington, N.C.; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, also several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Life Choice Hospice, 106 Pearl Dr., Ste. 107, LaFayette, GA 30728. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday March 30, 2014, at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Wallace officiating. Interment will be held in Hickory, NC.
