Artis Thurman "Cotton" Porter, 69, of Chattanooga, passed away Saturday, March 29, 2014. He was a self employed logger and of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Nellie Porter; sisters, Evelyn Tishaw and Linda Faye Porter; brothers, Wendell Porter, J.D. Porter; grandson, Aaron Britt Jr. Survivors: Evelyn Porter; daughters, Regina (Aaron) Britt and Jennifer (Travis) Carruth; sisters, Arthell Johnson, Teresa Young and Wanda Daniels; and brother, Leon Porter; six grandchildren, Summer and Brandon Carruth and PV2 Canerdy, Ashley, Alison, Arianna Britt. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. EDT Monday, March 31, 2014 in the Bryant Chapel of Moore Funeral Home with the Rev. Aaron Britt officiating. Burial will be held in Payne Gap Cemetery.
