Odessa Ramsey

Odessa "Dessie" Ramsey, 88, of Harrison, passed away Friday, March 28, 2014. A lifelong resident of Harrison, she was retired from Hamilton County Nursing Home and was a member of the Denny Hill Baptist Church. She was the wife of the James Arthur "Sworch" Ramsey and was also preceded in death by two sons, James Lebron Ramsey and Gary Curtis Ramsey; and a daughter, JoAnn Dunn. Survivors include five daughters, Helen McCurdy, Kathy (Mark) Fine, Gail Chastain, Barbara (Jim) Hickman and Joy Hardeman; four sons, Bill "Cotton" Ramsey, Jack (Maureen) Ramsey, Mike Ramsey and Chris (Christie) Gass; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister Edna Parham. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the New McDonald Cemetery with the Rev. James Dobson officiating. As per Mrs. Ramseys request, there will be no visitation at the funeral home.
