Sarah Gordy

Sarah Virgie Gordy, 58, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, April 30, 2014. She was a lifelong resident of Ringgold and was of the Christian faith. Sarah was joy and delight for all that knew her. Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Johnnie Ruth Brown Gordy; sister, Cornelia Gordy; and brother, Will Gordy. She is survived by her sister Mary Flowers, of Ringgold; brothers, John (Erlene) Gordy and Syrus Ellis (Sandy) Gordy Jr., both of Ringgold; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 2, 2014, in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Lillard Stringer and Rev. Bo Young officiating. Interment will follow in Gordy Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. today and prior to the service on Friday. Arrangements by Wilson Funeral Home, Wallis-Stewart Chapel.
