Dorris Thatcher Dodge, 82, of Chatsworth, Calif., died on Sunday, April 27, 2014. She was born in Chattanooga, the daughter of the late Lewis P. Thatcher and Cynthia Taylor Thatcher, and grew up on Signal Mountain. She was a graduate of Girls Preparatory School and attended Hood College and the University of Chattanooga where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. After college she moved to California, met and married Arthur R. Dodge Jr., her husband of 57 years. Survivors include her husband; her daughter, Mimi; her son, Dick; two brothers, Lewis "Pat" Thatcher Jr. and Carolyn, of Signal Mountain and David J. Thatcher, of Pensacola; several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Randall. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
