Grady Lebron

Grady McDowell, TUNNEL HILL Grady Lebron McDowell, 73, passed away Thursday, May 1, 2014. He was born in Chattanooga to the late Vernon and Lillie Mae McDowell and was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga and North Georgia areas. He was a Navy Veteran and was a self-employed Graphic Artist for more than 60 years. He was of the Christian faith and was an avid Motorcyclist who had a passion for Art and was always putting others needs before his own. He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Plott McDowell; daughter, Michelle Harbin; and brother, Raymond McDowell. Survivors include his children, Janah Barber and Danah Thornberg, both of Ringgold, Mitzi McDowell, of Chattanooga, Eric McDowell, of Tunnel Hill, Ga., Brandy McDowell, of Chattanooga, and Cheyenne McDowell, of Gainesville, Ga.; brother, Jimmy McDowell of Fort Oglethorpe; nine grandchildren, Ethan, Brian, Todd, Dusty, Tyler, Shannon, Candace, Camry and Hunter; 13 great-grandchildren; mother of Janah, Danah, Mitzi and Eric, Tonja Mercer; and numerous extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2014, in the Wallis-Stewart Chapel of Wilson Funeral Homes. Burial will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
