Carole Anchondo

Linda Carole Anchondo, 70, went home to be with her Lord on Monday, May 5, 2014. She was born in Roseboro, N.C. to the late Omer Averette and Melba H. Sutton Spivey. Carole moved to Rossville in 1978 from California and was a member of Anchor of Hope Baptist Church. She retired from Chattanooga Valley Elementary School as a parapro after nine years. Carole was a loving mother and grandmother who had a passion for sewing and being with her family. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Aurelio Anchondo; son, Brian Anchondo; siblings, Thomas Spivey and Nancy Matthews. Carole is survived by her children, Teresa (Michael) Gravitt, of Rossville, Chris (Tina) Anchondo, of Ringgold, Michael (Jennifer) Anchondo, of Ringgold and Cathy Anchondo, of Rossville; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 9, 2014, in the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Brian Haney officiating. Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3 to 9 p.m. on Thursday and prior to the service on Friday.
