Gene Beaird

Sherman Eugene "Gene" Beaird, 77, died Tuesday, May 6, 2014, with family and friends by his side. Gene was a lifelong resident of the North Georgia area and a member of the Church of God of Prophecy. He was retired after 43 years from Dixie Yarns. Gene is survived by his wife of 53 years, Barbara Hayes Beaird; daughter, Jeanine Beaird Powell; son-in-law, Steve Powell; grandsons, Thomas, Josh, and Michael Powell; sisters, Margaret McMurray and Lillie Martin; and brother, Sam McMurray.
