Opal Edwards

Opal Irene Harris Edwards, 83, passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2014. She was born to the late Lynns and Grace Shepard Harris in LaFayette on July 22, 1930. Opal was of the Baptist faith and she enjoyed gardening, fishing and spending time with her grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by her husband, James Edwards; and several brothers and sisters. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, James W. and Joy Edwards; three grandchildren, Tyler, Tasha and Austin Edwards; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3-9 p.m. today and prior to the service at 2 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Crestlawn Cemetery.
