Rex McBride

Robert Rex McBride, of Chattanooga, passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2014. He was 87 years old. Rex was a native of Rossville, and has been a longtime resident of the Chattanooga area. He served our country during World War II in the United States Navy. Rex retired from Arnold Engineering and Development Center in Tullahoma where he assisted in developing the Saturn Rocket. He was a member and deacon at Highland Park Baptist Church. Rex was preceded in death by his wife, Lena Ann McBride. He is survived by his daughter, Jacquelin Ann (John E.) Waters; grandchildren, John Rex (Pamela Frazier) Waters and Robert Lee (Judith Ann Craig) Waters; great-grandchildren, John Leslie, Ansley Rae and Corrigan Rex. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. A graveside service for Rex will be held at 1:30 p.m. today, May 9, at Hamilton Memorial Gardens with Pastor Chuck Patrick officiating. The family has asked that memorial contributions be made in Rexs name to Tennessee Temple University, 1815 Union Ave., Chattanooga, TN 37404.
