Lela Holmes

Lela Holmes, 79, departed this life on Sunday, May 11, 2014, peacefully in her home. She leaves to cherish her memories: three daughters, Meritta Johnson and Glenda Jenkins, of Rochester, N.Y., Lendia Langford, of Chattanooga; three sons, Noland (Wanda) Walker, of Bakers, Fla., Erick Holmes and Aaron Sternes, of Chattanooga; and one sister, Ruby Page, of Chattanooga; a host of grand, great and great-great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 15, 2014, at Stanley United Methodist, 501 Dodson Ave. Interment in Chattanooga National Cemetery. The body will lie in state after noon today at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Avenue, 622-9995.
