Norman Joshen Sr., 75, passed away at home on Thursday, May 9, 2014. He was born on Jan. 12, 1939 in Griffin, Ga., to Emmit Josey and Thelma Reid. Norman retired from Yellow Freight after more than 20 years of employment. He enjoyed fishing and traveling. He was a faithful member and deacon at Shiloh Baptist Church for over two decades. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Charles Lee Reid; and sister, Johnnie Kate Reid. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Elgiteen Joshen; five sons, all of Chattanooga, Norman Joshen Jr., Kenneth Lee Joshen, Dexter Lebron Joshen (Katie), Patrick Dewayne Joshen and Gary Wadley; two daughters, Cynthia Denise Joshen and Kisha Joshen; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at noon on Thursday in the chapel. Interment in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. The body will lie in state after noon today at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
