Ellen Bivens

Ellen Shields Bivens, 86, of Chattanooga, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2014, in a local healthcare facility. She was a member of Spring Creek Baptist Church, retired from SunTrust Bank and was a long time employee of Railway Express. She loved her children and especially her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh W. Bivens; parents, Tee H. Shields Sr. and Johnnie Parsons Shields; and brothers, Tee Jr., Bobby, Edward, John and David Shields. Survivors include her children, Warren Bivens, Brenda (Billy) Case and Neal (Angie) Bivens; sister, Ann White; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. today in the funeral home.
