Mickey Harwood

Mickey Harwood, 78, died Saturday, May 17, 2014, at his home. Mr. Harwood was a 1955 graduate of Rhea County High School. He was of the Methodist faith, a Bledsoe County Commissioner, where he served as chairman; a former Mayor of Pikeville. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a lifetime member of the VFW. Preceded in death by parents, Bradford and Ruby Harwood; sister, Frankie Harwood. Survivors include wife, Maxine Harwood, Pikeville; daughter, Kim Langston, Pikeville; son, Dr. Greg (Tracy) Harwood, Cartersville, Ga.; Butch Roberson, Pikeville; grandchildren, Casey Shaver, Ashley (Zac) Roberson, James Harwood, Anna Harwood, Austin and Sawyer Landers; great-grandchildren, Tyler Young, Tate and Tucker Shaver, Avery and Zander Roberson; sister, Priscilla (Charlie) Corvin, Dayton; Carolyn (Tommy) Kelly, Dayton; brother, Johnny Harwood, Graysville, Tenn.; several nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend their appreciation to Amedisys Hospice & Home health, Jason Stone, Erlanger Bledsoe, Bledsoe EMS, Gary Winnie and Dexter Smith. Memorial contributions can be made to Bledsoe Warrior Sports Matters, 134 Cherry St. Pikeville, TN 37367. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today, May 20, 2014, at Collier Cemetery.
