Bobby R. "Boo" Carlisle passed away Monday, May 19, 2014, due to complications following surgery. He was 59. He was a fine friend, son, brother and uncle. Born in Chicago, Ill., his family moved to Alabama when he was a child and they then settled in Chattanooga. He was preceded in death by his brother, Rick Carlisle. He is survived by his father, Marion Carlisle; mother, Geneva Butler; sister, Elaine Steeley and her husband, Richard; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his most special friend of many years, Sandy. Bobby to his family and "Boo" to his many friends; he was a professional bartender for many years. If you bought a drink in this town in the last 40 years, theres a more than fair chance that Boo made it for you. He made numerous friends tending bar at The Station House, The Brass Register, The Loft, Davids and The Brainerd Beach Club before finding a home and extended family for the last two decades at The Comedy Catch. He became a member of that family and will be sorely missed by the owners, family, comedians and staff. The list of people who loved him like a brother is too long to list here. Boo was known as a man of character, integrity and strength. He loved fishing, playing cards and baseball, especially his beloved Chicago Cubs. He was a friend to many of the local bands that played in Chattanooga when the downtown venues were packed every weekend. He met thousands of people working in the restaurants around town and was respected and admired by all. Visit www.lanefh.com to share condolences. There will be a celebration of life 5 -7 p.m. today, May 22, 2014 with Rev. Everett Gossett and Jerry DiPillo officiating at Lane Funeral Home, 601 Ashland Terrace, 877-3524.
