Loretta Teter

Loretta Teter, 75, of Chattanooga passed away Friday, May 23, 2014, at her home. Loretta was an active member of Rivermont Presbyterian Church and had retired as a Registered Nurse with Life Care of Red Bank and Shriners Hospital of St. Louis. She was a graduate of the Swedish Nursing School in Minneapolis, Minn., president of Scenic City Friends, past president of Church Women United, vice president Church Women United for the state of Tennessee, past moderator of Presbyterian Women for Presbytery of East Tennessee, board of directors Sunset Gap, board of directors UTC Campus Ministeries Hope 808, past president of Valmont Womens Group, a volunteer for the Community Kitchen, and Frisk Volunteer of the Year, (2014) at Parkridge Hospital. Loretta was preceded in death by her husband, Darwin L. Teter; brother, Russ Nelson; and parents, Walter and Ivy Nelson. Survivors three sons, Eric (Melanie) Teter, Signal Mountain, Matthew Teter, Saint Cloud, Minn., Andrew Teter, Chattanooga; sister, Wendy (Paul) Hanson; five brothers, Charles (Coral) Nelson, Dave (Judith) Nelson, Jim (Renee) Nelson, Wayne (Kris) Nelson and Pete (Rochelle) Nelson; six granddaughters, Christina, Emily, Alyssa, Mallory, Julia and Abby; three grandsons, Joseph, Jack and Sam; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Rivermont Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Clay Thomas, the Rev. Charles Nelson and the Rev. Dave Nelson officiating. Interment will be in Cohassett, Minn. Saturday, May 31. Memorial contributions may be made to Rivermont Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends from 1-4 p.m. Wednesday and 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at Lane Funeral Home, 601 Ashland Terrace.
