Johanna Corvin

Johanna Wewers Corvin passed from this life Sunday, May 25, 2014, at her home in Dayton. Johanna was born Oct. 6, 1922 to the late Henry and Mary Deurling Wewers in Scranton, Ark. She spent most of her married life in Helena and Jonesboro, Ark., before moving to Dayton. She was a member of St. Marys, Helena, Ark., Blessed Sacrament, Jonesboro, Ark., before St. Bridgets Dayton. She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Corvin; her parents; six brothers, Ben, Ollie, Al, Louis, Fritz and Kat Wewers. Johanna is survived by her two sons, Michael (Linda) Corvin, of Longview, Texas and Gerald (Regina) Corvin, Dayton; one brother, Tommy (Willie Mae) Wewers; and one sister, Helen Wewers Weber (Richard) Kirkman; grandchildren, Carter Corvin, Tulsa, Okla., Megan (Jason) Barnette, Longview, Texas, Jonathan (Amy) Corvin, Bryant, Ark., Jason (Carrie) Corvin, Dayton; stepgranddaughter, Katherine (Pete) Whitaker Knoxville, Tenn.; great-grandchildren, Corvin and Mara Barnette, Hailey, Emily, Miley Corvin and Katie Whitaker. Special friend of many years, William "Bill" Cone. Visitation: Emerson Funeral Home, Jonesboro, Ark., Sunday, June 1, at 2 to 6 p.m. followed by Rosary. Funeral Service - Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Monday, June 2, at 10 a.m. followed by burial at Holy Cross Cemetery. Local arrangements by Coulter-Garrison Funeral Home.
