Margie Swanson

Margie Swanson GRAYSVILLE Margie Headrick Swanson, 87, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, Aug. 31, 2014. She grew up in the Graysville community where she was an active member of New Liberty Baptist Church from her early childhood until her death. She and her husband, Marvin ran a dairy farm in Graysville until retirement. Margie was a founding member of the Dorcas Sunday School Class and WMU of New Liberty Baptist Church. She was co-founder of the TOPS chapter of Graysville and a member of the Sugar Plums Red Hat Society. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Marvin H. Swanson; parents, Roland and Ada Louise Headrick; son, Gary Swanson; granddaughter, Angela Gail Cooper; sister, Ruby Wardl; and brother, Meredith Headrick. She is survived by her children, Janice (Jimmy) Cooper of Rock Spring; Brenda Camp, Cissy (Doug) Baker, Bruce (Patricia) Swanson, Doug (Alysia) Swanson, and Janis Swanson of Ringgold. Also survived by grandchildren, Michelle (Stewart) Domaingue, of Cohutta; Kim (Shawn) Sievers, of LaFayette; Kristi (Hank) Longmire, of Bishop; Michael (Kim) Baker, Jennifer Swanson, Jeffery Swanson, Lindsey Swanson, Lesley (Brad) Thomas, Aimee (James) Larsen, Kurt (Nikki) Swanson, of Ringgold. Great grandchildren include Logan Smith, of East Ridge; R. J. Sievers, of LaFayette; Catherine Domaingue, of Cohutta; Emily Kate and Carter Longmire, of Bishop; Elizabeth Smith (Jacob Armes), Max Baker, Cooper Larsen, Evan Larsen, Jake Larsen, Aiden Swanson, Brodi Swanson and Mackenna Thomas, of Ringgold; great-great granddaughter, Rosalie Armes of Ringgold; sister, Betty (Jackie) Sizemore, of Mobile, Ala.; also survived by several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are Rusty Voltz, Jay Brock, Rodney Simpson, Dorsey Ray Nichols, Danny Ward and Scott Self. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Sugar Plums Red Hat Society, Tops Club of Graysville and the Dorcus Sunday School Class. Services will be conducted by Danny Henson and William Swanson at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of the Heritage Funeral Home in Fort Oglethorpe. Burial will be in the Lakewood Memorial Gardens in Lakeview. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today, Sept. 2, at Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway.
