Leon York

Leon York, 86, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2014, at his home. He attended The Church of God. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mose and Rosie York; daughter, Joyce Ann York; and all of his brothers and sisters except one. Survivors include his loving wife, Edna Lois York; children, Charles E. York David E. York, Robert A. York, Rayford L. York and Donald R. York; sister, Carrie Mae Davis; five grandsons; two granddaughters; two great-grandsons; and three great-granddaughters. Services will be 11 a.m. CST Friday, Sept. 5, 2014, in the chapel of Tate Funeral Home. Rev. Charles Kilgore and Rev. Quillien Thurman will officiate. Burial will follow in Lakewood Memory Gardens West. The family will receive friends 4-8 p.m. today, Sept. 4, 2014, at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.tatefh.com.
