Buddy Baugh Jr.

James "Buddy" Fred Baugh, a lifelong resident of Chattanooga, departed this life on Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2014, at his home. Buddy was the owner of Baugh Trucking, Inc. He was a graduate of Scottsboro High School in Scottsboro, Ala.. He was a military policeman in the army in the early 1960s. Buddy and his late wife, Shirley, were avid automobile enthusiasts and cat lovers. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Thomas Baugh; his father, James F. Baugh Sr.; and his sister, Carol Sue Baugh. He is survived by his mother, Lucille Baugh, Scottsboro; nephew, Daniel D. Smith Jr. (Shea), Nashville; niece, Angela Smith Ballard (Mike), Chattanooga; great-nephews, Zack and Ben Ballard, Chattanooga, and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Daniel and Betty Smith, Hixson. The family would like to thank his caregiving team: Bonnie Evelyn Patterson, private sitters and Hospice of Chattanooga. James was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and a celebration of his life and to the glory of God will be held at 10 a.m. today, Sept. 5, 2014, at Chattanooga North Chapel with interment following at Hamilton Memorial Gardens. His memory may be honored with a memorial contribution to McKamey Animal Shelter, as well as to other charities of your choice.
