James Stephens Jr.

James "Sandy" Loyd Stephens Jr., 54, passed away suddenly on April 25, 2015. Sandy was born March 13, 1961 in Chattanooga. He graduated from Covenant College and was employed by Shaw Industries at WD Plant in Dalton, Ga. Sandy was a member of Tunnel Hill United Methodist Church. During his short time with us he was able to touch many lives. Sandy was a giving, funny, and wise man. He was undaunted, adventurous, an advisor and a hero. He was a man that was there for his family, friends, and anyone, even if he was tired and there was seemingly no time. Sandy did the work of many as one. He showed love through action. He was truly the foundation of his family. The loss is great but it is a reminder for us all to give a little more and to take joy in doing so. To love when we can, for we do not know when we will get a chance to do so again. Sandy leaves behind wife, Kim; daughters, Felicia and Emily; sons, Sam, Blake, and Brent; grandchildren, Oliver, Ella, Brock, and Oscar; his brother, Jon; sister, Jenni; and mother, Mary. He was preceded in death by his father, James Loyd Stephens Sr. A memorial service will be held 2:30 p.m. today, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jay Tenney officiating. Visit www.heritagefh.com to share condolences and memorial tribute. Memorial contributions may be made to Tunnel Hill United Methodist Church, 121 North Varnell Road, Tunnel Hill, GA 30755.
