Lebron Morgan Sr.

Lebron Morgan Sr., 56, passed away July 26, 2015, at a local hospital. He is a graduate of Howard School class of 1976, where he was a dominate football and basketball player. He attended Alabama A&M University. He retired from UT-Chattanooga after 36 years of service. He was a member of Greater Faith Temple M.B. Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert "Sonny" Morgan; grandparents, Charles J. and LeVora Morgan, Charlie and Ruth Thomas; grandchildren, Mary Tyler, Pierre Hereford and Caivon Welch. Survivors include his loving wife, Mary E. Morgan; daughters, Octavia Morgan, Kristy Tyler; sons, Lebron (Tessie) Morgan, Clifford (Nina) Welch of Chattanooga; loving mother, Catherine Louise Morgan; sisters, Elizabeth (the late Jackie) Macon, Kathleen (Orlandus) Metcalf, Deborah Morgan, Carlynda (Alfred) Cantrell of Chattanooga; brothers, Robert (Carol) Morgan, Lawrenceville, Ga., Charles D. Morgan, Jerome (Teresa) Morgan; mother-in-law, Sallie Mae Eberhardt; twenty-nine grandchildren; a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, cousins, sisters and brothers-in-law; and many friends, including the Howard Class of 1976. Service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 2, 2015, in the Chapel, Minister Delores Nelson, officiating. Interment in Forest Hills Cemetery. The body will lie in state after noon today, the family will receive friends from 68 p.m. at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
