Bill Hassler

Charles William "Bill" Hassler, 82, of Chattanooga, died Thursday, July 30, 2015, in a local hospital. Mr. Hassler was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga, having retired from Mueller Co. Bill served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict and was of the Baptist faith. He held memberships with the Hill City Lodge #603, Half-Century Club, The Alhambra Shrine and bus unit, Possum Creek Fez Club and "Board member of the Hardees retiree gang." Survivors include his son, Charles W. "Chip" (Sheri) Hassler III, Soddy-Daisy; daughter, Karen (George) Battersby, Hixson; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Snellgrove, Megan Weller, Andrew Hassler and Fiona Battersby; several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2015, at Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors, Rev. Ted Painter officiating.
