Kelly Ensor Sr.

James Kelly Ensor Sr., 89, went to Heaven to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 29, 2015. Kelly was born on August 19, 1925 in Cookeville, Tenn., to the late James Leslie and Mamie Demarias Ensor. Kelly relied on his Christian faith and was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church for 60 years. Kelly was drafted into World War II after his freshman year at the University of Tennessee and later graduated from Tennessee Tech University. He was married to Clois Rogers in 1947 and worked for TVA for 33 years. Kelly was the kindest soul ever who never met a stranger. He loved to tell a story, but he also loved to hear your story. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Clois Rogers Ensor and four sisters, Emma Ruth Tallant, Elizabeth Reeves, Mildred Maggart and Frances Benedict. He is survived by his children, Dr. Jim (Cheri) Ensor, Mary Rose (Tom) Branyan; his grandson, Kelly (Emily) Ensor; great-grandchildren, Graham and Eleanor Ensor; along with several loving nieces and nephews. Special thanks and love to his friend and neighbor of 60 years, Mrs. Earlene Ziegler. Honorary pallbearers will be Mr. Martin Church, Mr. Francis Cordell and Mr. Joe Elledge. Funeral services will be conducted from the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home today, Aug. 3, with visitation from 9:30 a.m. CDT until 11 a.m. service time. Interment will be on Monday at 3:30 p.m. at Rob Draper Memorial Cemetery in Gainesboro, Tenn. Memorial donations may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church or St. Jude Childrens Hospital.
