Bill Slatton

William "Bill" Slatton, 68, of Ooltewah, died on Sunday, Aug. 2, 2015. He was the son of the late Paul and Helen Key Slatton. Bill was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many. He was of the Baptist faith and was always willing to help those in need. Bill was an avid bass fisherman and outdoorsman. He retired from ABB after 30 years of service and enjoyed doing carpentry jobs. Bill won several awards in bowling, fishing and enjoyed Dirt Track Racing at Boyds Speedway and Cleveland Motor Speedway, in his earlier years. He loved to play golf with his son and enjoyed watching his grandson play baseball. Survivors include his son, Troy (Lori) Slatton; daughter, Tammy Slatton (Jack) Brown; grandson, Dylan Brown; sisters, Betty (Burl) Powell, Rossville, Ga., and Anna Caldwell, Spartanburg, S.C.; his loving companion of 37 years, Sharon Shoemaker Robinson and her sons, Jeff and Nathan Robinson; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5, in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Cloyd Bell officiating. Interment will follow in Chattanooga Memorial Park.
