Robert Garrott

Robert William Garrott, 80, Red Bank passed away Saturday, Aug. 22, 2015. He was born June 12, 1935 in Cleveland Tenn., to the late Dr. William Anson and Ruth Waltrip Garrott. Bob, as he was known, was graduated from the McCallie School and from Vanderbilt University where he was initiated into Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He retired from the United States Army. He spent his adult life in the Chattanooga area. Bobs passion was trains of all sizes and types, which led him to volunteer for many years at the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum. He was a longtime member of First-Centenary United Methodist Church. Mr. Garrott is survived by his daughters, Ruth (Ron) Jackson, Nancy (Michael) Mele; grandchildren, Kathleen, Sharon, Phillip, Christopher and Holly. A Celebration of life service will be held 4 p.m. today Aug. 29, 2015, at Tremont Baptist Church, 214 Tremont St., Chattanooga, The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until the hour of service at the church.
