Pete Powell

Vernon "Pete" Powell, 74, passed away Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015. Pete was retired from The Marion County Highway Department. He was preceded in death by his mother, Maybelle Slatton Powell; father, Fletcher Powell; grandparents, James and Dixie Slatton. Those left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 47 years, Linda Powell; daughter, Renee (Jeff) Long, of Whitwell; grandchildren, Nikki and Tre Daniel, Nathan amd Shonie Long; great-grandchildren, Makayla Daniel, Makenzie Daniel, Hayley Long; several aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends. Family will receive friends 9 a.m.-2 p.m. CDT today, Aug. 31, 2015. Funeral Service will be 2 p.m. CDT today, Aug. 31, with Rev. Brenda Woods officiating.
