Artha Gravitt

Artha Lynn Dukes Gravitt, 62, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2015. She was born in Daytona, Florida to the late, Arthur and Bettye McAllister Dukes and lived in Fort Lauderdale before moving to the Chattanooga and North Georgia areas in the mid 70s. She was a member of East Ridge United Pentecostal Church and was employed with Cigna Health Care for more than 22 years as a Data Entry Clerk. She enjoyed quilting and making crafts and was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother that will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Survivors include her husband, Wayne Gravitt of Rossville, Ga.; daughter and son-in-law, Leslie Lecompte (Tim) Wiggins of Soddy-Daisy, Tenn.; step-children, Nicole Lee Coverdale of Wilmington, NC, Jeremiah Wayne Gravitt of Chattanooga Valley and Lacy Ridley of Kennard, Fla.; brother, Ronald Dukes of Columbia, SC; sister, Ina Dukes of Clearwater, Fla.; grandchildren, Casey Lieker and Corey Wiggins; and 9 other grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and one niece, Tsigana Kubizak. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 27, 2015 in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel with Rev. Terry Arnold officiating. Burial will follow in the Chattanooga Memorial Park.
