James Dwyer

James Edward Dwyer, beloved husband, father and friend, passed away Sunday, Feb. 22, 2015, in Chattanooga. He was 76 years old. Those left to cherish Jims memories are his wife of 25 years, Faye Colquitt Dwyer; sons, James Jr., and Eugene; daughters, Kelley and Deborah; stepdaughter, Paige; son-in-law, Marc; grandchildren, Heather, Mia, Olivia and Sawyer; former wife, Patricia Gattas Dwyer; sister, Marilyn; three great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mildred and Eugene Dwyer. Jim was born in Memphis, Tenn., and attended Christian Brothers High School and College before becoming a successful businessman. He was president and co-owner of Jobbers Warehouse in Chattanooga from 1982-1991 and contributed to a variety of other local business ventures throughout the years. He also served in the U.S. National Guard. In celebration of Jims life, a festive sendoff will be held at The Car Barn in Chattanooga Saturday, Feb. 28, from 11 a.m.2:30 p.m., with a brief address by friends and family at 1:30 p.m. The family will hold a private ceremony to spread Jims ashes at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to one of Jims favorite charities are appreciated: St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and the Shriners Hospitals for Children. Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
