Thressa Williams

Thressa Marie Williams, 93-year-old resident of Chattanooga, died Friday, Jan. 23, 2015, at a local nursing home. Born Dec. 4, 1921, in Wickes, Ark., she was the daughter of W.O. Felts and Nora Duncan Felts. Thressa Marie Felts was born into the Felts family, the youngest of five children. Her father, Oscar Felts, was a Nazarene preacher who moved as called from town to town in Oklahoma and Arkansas. She graduated from Bethany Nazarene College where she met her husband, Trafton Devoight Williams. They settled in Siloam Springs, Ark. Her husband was called to become the pastor of The Church of The Nazarene in Kirksville, Mo., where she attended graduate school and earned her Masters Degree. They moved to Raytown, Mo., while her husband earned his Doctorate. Afterwards in 1965, they lived in Nashville, where she was a guidance counselor in the Metro-Nashville Public Schools. When she retired, she moved to Chattanooga and lived next door to her son and his wife. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Trafton D. Williams; her parents, Rev. W.O. Felts and Nora Duncan Felts; siblings: Andy Felts, Ola Simpson, Clay Felts and Doil Felts. She is survived by one son, Ronald Williams and wife, Sandra, of Chattanooga; three grandchildren, Joshua Williams, of Round Rock, Texas, Jacob Williams and wife, Delphine, of Marshall, Texas, and Jesse Williams, of Portland, Ore.; three great-grandchildren, Kaia Nichols, of Rossville, Savannah Williams and Knox Williams, of Round Rock, Texas; nieces and nephews, Dick Simpson, Andrea Mace, Wayne Felts, Doyle Felts and Bryce Felts; Marcia Odman, Edley Felts and John Felts. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015 at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Siloam Springs, Ark.
