Ronnie Tucker Sr.

Ronnie Joe Tucker Sr. passed away Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2015, at Hamilton Medical Center in Dalton, surrounded by loved ones. Joe was the son of Terry and Beryl Carswell of Lizella, Ga. Although he was born and raised in Lizella, for most of his life he called Dalton, his home. He attended the University of Georgia where a lifelong love of the Georgia Bulldog football team was born. He worked for Chem-tech in Dalton as a colorist and manager. The joy of his life however were his seven grandchildren. He was prceded in death by father, Terry Carswell; and sister, Joyce Tucker Parker Cabe. Survivors include mother, Beryl Carswell, brother Mike Tucker; wife, Glenda Tucker, daughters, Monica (Rick) Lee, of Fort Worth, Texas and Michelle Locke; sons, Ronnie Joe Tucker Jr., Matthew (Sarah) Tucker, Justin (Amber) Salter; and stepson, Joshua Salter; seven grandchildren, Christopher, Nathan and Abbie Locke, Kayla and Zoie Tucker and Caleb (Henderson) and Carter Salter. Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, at Lighthouse Church in Rossville. Flowers can be sent to the church on Saturday.
