Margaret Mavity

LaFAYETTE Margaret Porter Mavity died June 28, 2015, after a long illness. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of almost 67 years, Leonard Kenneth Mavity. She was also predeceased by her father, Paul C. Porter; mother, Margaret Johnson Porter, sisters, Lillian Ottinger and Celeste Goodwin; and brother, Paul C. Porter. She is survived by her four daughters, Cleta Mavity Gibson, Julia (Eddy) Mavity-Hudson, Celeste (Clay) Matthews and Erika (Mitchell Crump) Mavity; six grandchildren, Emily (Clyde) Gibson-Roberson, Zachariah (Shauna) Gibson, James Matthews, Holly Matthews, Gregory (Breanna) Mavity and Jesse Crump; two great-grandchildren, Jeremiah Skinner and Oliver Roberson; and her brother, Nathan Porter; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews and innumerable friends. Funeral from the LaFayette First Baptist Church 2 p.m. Monday, July 6, 2015, with Dr. Nita Crump officiating. Interment: LaFayette City Cemetery. Pallbearers are her grandchildren. Visitation at the funeral home Sunday, July 5, 2015, from 5-8 p.m. Arrangements are by Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home, LaFayette.
