Maxine Kelly

Maxine Elizabeth Kelly, nee Bonenberger, 86, passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior on Thursday, July 2, 2015. Maxine was born July 31, 1928, and was a devoted wife to her soulmate, Glen, for 68 years until his passing one year ago. She was also a loving mom to six children, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was a homemaker her entire life. She had three loves in her life: her God, her husband and her family, whom she selflessly served all of her days, sharing with them her love for Jesus and exemplifying compassion and care to all those she met. She was longtime member of the New Testament Baptist Church in Cahokia, Ill., and a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Trenton, Ga., for the last 28 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen; oldest daughter, Terry; and six brothers and sisters. She leaves behind two sisters and a brother. Left to cherish her memory are her five children:, daughters, Becky (Phillip) Broersma and Dawna (Richard) Mallon, all from the Chattanooga area, and sons, Mike (Cindy) Kelly of West Des Moines, Iowa, Ron (Cheryl) Kelly of Rockwall, Texas, and Randy (Brenda) Kelly of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; and son-in-law, Tom Enke of Chattanooga; and her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pastor Phillip Trask of Sand Mountain Bible Camp, 83 Bible Camp Lane, Trenton, GA, 30752. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Rev. George Trask officiating. Interment will follow in Sand Mountain Bible Camp Cemetery. Family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. EDT Tuesday at Ryan Funeral Home. Mrs. Kelly will lay in state one hour prior to service on Wednesday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
