Rick Powers

Rickey Alan "Rick" Powers, 55, passed away Thursday, June 25, 2015, at the family residence. Rick was a 1977 graduate of Bradley Central High School. He was the owner and operator of Dalton Pike Salvage for over 30 years. He loved riding his motorcycle but most of all he loved spending time with the love of his life, his wife Phyllis! Rick loved the Lord and he was a member of the Samples Memorial Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Powers of Cleveland; his stepchildren, Brandon (Angie) Warnock of Stevenson, Ala., Dustin (Heather) Warnock of Trenton, Ga.; his five grandchildren; his three great-grandchildren; his mother and father, Mary Williamson Powers and Julian Powers of Cleveland; his brother, Randy (Debra) Powers of Cleveland; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, host of friends and his church family also survive. The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted today, June 28, 2015, at 4 p.m. from the Samples Memorial Baptist Church with Pastor Mark Cameron and Rev. Gene Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery with Rodney Johnson, Rodney Fairfield, Doyle Gray, Chris Norwood, Frank Jenkins and Ron Prater serving as casket bearers. The family request that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, 850 Fortwood Street, Chattanooga, TN 37421. The family will receive friends today from 11 a.m. until the 4 p.m. service time at the Samples Memorial Baptist Church.
