Janice Baskett

Janice June Hitchcock Baskett, 78, died at Erlanger, Chattanooga, on Sunday, June 28, 2015, after a brief illness. Mrs. Baskett was born in Sequatchie County on Jan. 24, 1937. She was a member of Ewtonville Baptist Church, a member of DAV Auxillary and a member of Gold Star Wives. She was preceded in death by parents, Willis and Ola Mae Hatfield Hitchcock; siblings, Joyce, Judy, Janie, Garrett and Olean. Survivors include her sons, Steve (Cheryl) Elder, Virginia, Stewart (Carol) Elder, Michigan, Scott Elder, Florida; daughter, Sylvia Elder, Florida; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. CDT today, June 30, 2015, at Ewtonville Baptist Church with Brother Brian Kearns officiating. The family will receive friends at the church after the services. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Ewtonville Baptist Church Senior Program.
