Marian Peters

Gail Peters Marian Gail Wilcoxen Peters, 80, of Atlanta and Chattanooga, passed away Monday, March 2, 2015. She is survived by her devoted and loving son, Jeffery C. Peters. Gail was a wonderful and inspirational woman to all who knew her and will be remembered by many dear friends and loved ones. She taught first grade at Big Ridge Elementary until her retirement in 1994. She leaves behind a legacy of teaching a love for reading to nearly one thousand children over the years. She was preceded in death by her husband, David S. Peters. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 5, at Morningside Presbyterian Church, 1411 N. Morningside Drive, NE, Atlanta, GA, 30306 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., followed by service at 2 p.m. Graveside services will be held Friday, March 6, at 1 p.m. at Anderson Memorial Gardens, Ringgold, Ga. Memorial gifts can be made to Childrens Literacy Initiative (www.cli.org), Chattanooga Primitive Baptist Church or Morningside Presbyterian Church Atlanta.
