Ed Brogan

Edward "Ed" Brogan, 72, of Ooltewah, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 22, 2015, after fighting a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was a lifelong resident of Ooltewah and graduated from Ooltewah High School in 1962. Ed played football, basketball and baseball in High School and was known as "Red" by his teammates. He attended Silverdale Baptist Church and retired from McKee Foods after 36 years of service. Ed started out with McKee in an entry level positon and had worked his way into Management and was the Superintendent of Packing when he retired. He had worked at Groome Transportation for the last eight years as well. Ed enjoyed camping, fishing, golfing and was an avid wood carver, belong to the Wood Carvers Association of Chattanooga. He was preceded in death by his father, Eston Brogan; and brothers, James, Jerry and Kenneth Brogan. Survivors include his wife, Glenna Brogan; sons, Keith and Glen Brogan, both of Ooltewah; daughter, Holly Duangta, Glen Pine, N.C.; stepchildren, Greg and Scott Sutton, both of Ooltewah and Sonya Houchin, Cleveland, Tenn.; grandchildren, Nicholas Brogan, Lauren Brogan, Aiden Brogan, Eli Duangta, Whisper Edinger, Jonathan Sutton, Michael Houchin, Cody Sutton, Amber Houchin, Shelby Sutton and Dalton Sutton; mother, Ora Bell Brogan, Ooltewah; brother, Rick Brogan, Cleveland, Tenn.; sisters, Sybil Garrett, Crestview, Fla., and Hazel Langston, Ooltewah; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 26, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Spencer Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.
